Sadler's Risk was always expected to win yesterday's William Hill - Home Of Betting Juvenile Hurdle at Kempton but the manner of his success has led to bookmakers installing Sadler's as joint favourite for his Cheltenham Festival target.

The Philip Hobbs new recruit to jumping was very useful on the flat with a close Chester Vase fourth to Irish Derby winner Treasure Beach the pick of his form .

Richard Johnson gave Sadler's Risk a lovely ride allowing the evens favourite to stride into the lead rounding the home turn and such was his superiority that the winning distance was eventually seventeen lengths.

Trainer Hobbs was understandably pleased afterwards and commented " We'll work backwards from the Triumph now. Richard thought he could do with another run or two and he could go to Cheltenham in a fortnight as he's very tough."

Sadler's Risk is now generally 8/1 for the Triumph Hurdle disputing favouritism with Baby Mix but can be backed at odds of 10/1 with Betfred and Totesport .
