Looking outstanding in the paddock before the start, Noble Prince proved he had the ability to match his looks with an emphatic win in the Jewson Novices Chase under the guidance of 15-time champion jockey AP McCoy.

Subject of sustained betting interest throughout the morning, Paul Nolan’s seven-year-old produced another profitable outcome for the Irish when scooting up the hill to beat Wishful Thinking by lengths with Loosen My Load a further five lengths away in third.

Wishful Thinking started the 7/2 favourite and for most of the race looked worth very penny invested as he jumped cleanly and quickly ahead of the field. Loosen My Load travelled well throughout and came to challenge the leader approaching the final fence along with McCoy on the eventual winner who had taken the short way round and was always handily placed in behind the leaders.

The favourite lost his momentum on landing from the last jump and McCoy burst into the lead to draw clear for a very impressive victory. Wishful Thinking styed ion for second place as Loosen My Load could find no extra when asked on the run in.
