Neptune Investment Management Novices´ Hurdle Result: Bookies cheer home First Lieutenant

Bookmakers breathed sigh of relief when Rock On Ruby and First Lieutenant cleared the last hurdle to race clear of the heavily backed favourite So Young. It was another success for the Irish trained horses as First Lieutenant got up close home to win in a photo-finish and register the fifth Irish-trained winner at the meeting.

Rock On Ruby was left in front at the final hurdle after Oscar Well lost his footing on landing when just leading and seemed to distract So Young who was also challenging under Ruby Walsh. But it was Rock On Ruby and First Lieutenant who battled out the finish as the raced neck and neck up the hill to the relief of the bookmakers.
