Snow Fairy Favourite For Irish Oaks

As Europe’s top three-year-old fillies prepare to compete for Classic race authority in the Darley Irish Oaks, Snow Fairy is the early money favourite. The Ed Dunlop trained filly was bought 18 months ago for £1500 and won the English Oaks last time out at Epsom .

Top Irish trainer Aidan O’Brien expects to have a maximum of four horses run in the Classic sponsored by Darley . The Ballydoyle trainer will be bidding for a fourth Irish Oaks success . Remember When looks to be O’Brien’s best chance here and will be partnered by stable jockey Johnny Murtagh , the filly who was third behind Snow Fairy in the English Oaks is a best price 10/1 with Paddy Power .

Bookmakers confirm that there has been interest shown in the Aga Khan’s horse Rosanara. Having finished fourth or better in her last six runs, and with two wins at the back end of 2009, odds of 4/1 with Bet365 could be worth a second glance.

The going at the Curragh was good yesterday and Racecourse Manager Paul Hensy confirmed ”It has gone back to good to firm in places on the round track , there is still the possibility of showers up to lunchtime on Friday“ .

The Darley Irish Oaks forms the centrepiece of an eight race card at the Curragh on Sunday with the Classic going off at 3.40pm .

The track also stage a fine card tomorrow with the day themed as Lifetime in Racing Achievement Day with presentations made throughout the afternoon to people who have made outstanding contributions to the horse racing industry.
